This dumpsite is located in Thailand, close to Mae Sot. The city is on the Burmese border. Because of ethnic conflicts, many people are forced to leave their homes in Burma and to flee to Thailand. Numerous immigrants are living illegally under bad conditions in the area and at around 100 are living on and around the mountains of garbage, in the “dump side”. A smelly and unhealthy place. To get some income and to feed their families, the people are searching in the trash for things that they can sell.
